Youth Cong Activists Stage Protest Against 'Modani Scam'
JAMMU, Nov 22: A massive protest was staged at Press Club, Jammu, by the Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress (JKPYC) to criticise the BJP-led NDA Government's alleged support for financial fraud involving industrialist Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The protest, organized by JKPYC general secretary Anirudh Sawhney, was led by Indian Youth Congress secretary incharge J&K Maan Singh Rathore. The protestors targeted the Government's complicity in exploiting national resources for personal gain, comparing it to a "nexus between PM Modi and Adani."
Addressing the protest, Rathore unleashed a scathing attack on the Modi Government, stating that Prime Minister Modi shields corruption of rich industrialists in India. He pointed out that Adani Group colluded with Azure Power, an American-listed company, to secure funds for allegedly misleading American investors.
The grand jury warrant issued by the US Department of Justice after a two-year investigation has confirmed Adani's breach of trust with the American market regulator SEBI and American investors. Rathore questioned the Government's complete immunity in India for the industrialist, asking how long the BJP will act as "Adani's spokesperson instead of serving the people."
Adding to Rathore's scathing critique, Sawhney stated that the US Department of Justice has launched a grand jury warrant against Gautam Adani after a two-year investigation. He emphasized the Government's silence as proof of complicity.
The rally was attended by President National Students' Union of India NSUI Ajay Lakhotra and Divyansh Singh Jamwal, who criticized the Indian government for its inaction on Adani fraud despite American action against it.
Senior members, including Rahul Tandon, Jagdeep Chahal, Anmol Kohli, Rishabh Kohli, Raghav Khajuria, and Jai Bhalla, also spoke at the event.
