Bhopal Inaugurates 200-Meter-Long Rudra Sagar Setu in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, is set to inaugurate the 'Rudra Sagar Setu', a 200-meter-long bridge, on Saturday in Ujjain, a significant religious city. The bridge will be connected with the 'Shakti path', one of the main entry gates for Mahakal Lok.

According to sources, the development is part of the second phase of the Mahakal Lok corridor and aims to provide an alternative pathway for devotees visiting Lord Shiva's shrine at Mahakal Lok. The bridge, constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 22 crore, will have seating space for public gatherings and offer stunning views of the site from 20 feet high.

The inauguration of Rudra Sagar Setu is expected to ease passage for pilgrims heading toward Ujjain during the upcoming Maha Shivratri festivities. A massive influx of devotees from across India is anticipated, with Chief Minister Yadav planning to participate in several public events and launch multiple projects across the city during his visit.

The development also coincides with preparations underway for the 2028 Simhastha Kumbh Mela, a significant Hindu congregation expected to attract an estimated 10 crore visitors. Chief Minister Yadav has stated that organizing this event is a key priority for the state government.

As part of the preparations, several infrastructure projects have been announced in recent months, including arrangements made at all 13 Akharas (orders) of saints and seers. With just two years to go before the congregation, the state government aims to ensure an exceptional experience for attendees.

The Simhastha Kumbh Mela is one of the largest Hindu gatherings, taking place every 12 years, and this upcoming edition promises to be a spectacular event with elaborate preparations in place.
