COMPTROLLER AND AUDITOR GENERAL DESIGNATED TO LEAD INVESTIGATION OF GOVERNMENT EXPENSES
Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the appointment of K Sanjay Murthy as India's next Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), overseeing the government's finances, effective from late November 2024.
Murthy, a Himachal Pradesh-batch IAS officer of 1989, will succeed Girish Chandra Murmu at an unknown date after his current term ends on November 20. The announcement was made public via notification issued by the Ministry of Finance.
Currently serving as Secretary to the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, Murthy's role is expected to begin when he assumes charge, upon completion of Girish Chandra Murmu’s tenure, later this month.
