CGHS Empanelment of 19 Hospitals in Delhi-NCR Suspended Due to Fraudulent Practices

New Delhi, Nov 14 (PTI) - The empanelment of 19 hospitals in Delhi-NCR under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has been suspended with immediate effect due to widespread fraud and irregularities. An official order issued on November 11 confirmed that these hospitals had engaged in various fraudulent activities.

According to the order, four hospitals in Delhi and eight in Noida were found involved in scams such as submitting fake bills, admitting beneficiaries multiple times along with their family members, and other unscrupulous practices. This led authorities to take "serious notice" of these egregious actions, prompting the suspension of CGHS empanelment with immediate effect.

However, the order came with some exceptions - beneficiaries already being treated at these hospitals before the suspension will continue to receive care under the scheme's rates for the remainder of their treatment.

For newly admitted patients, a note from the National Health Authority or relevant department must be submitted along with justification, in order to claim reimbursement or payment.
