ZIPLINE SAFETY RAISED CONCERNS IN KULLU DISTRICT AFTER GIRL FALLS FROM ZIP LINE

Kullu, Himachal Pradesh [India], June 17 (HBTV): The Kullu district administration has taken stern action against an adventure sports site in Manali after a girl from Nagpur reportedly fell from a zipline. According to sources, the site was found to be operating without mandatory registration.
District Deputy Commissioner Torul S Raveesh stated that the incident is 5-6 days old and the site failed to obtain winter registration as required by law. "Departmental action is being taken on this," he told ANI. The DC urged tourists to verify with adventure sports operators before participating in such activities, emphasizing the importance of proper authorisation and adherence to safety regulations.
Trisha, a 16-year-old girl from Nagpur, was admitted to Mission Hospital in Kullu after suffering severe injuries near Nehru Kund. A video circulating on social media showed her falling onto rocks after the zipline rope connected to her harness snapped.
Kullu Police have recorded a statement from Prafful Vijve, Trisha's father, stating that he does not wish to pursue legal action and will personally oversee his daughter's treatment and recovery.
The incident has sparked concerns over safety regulations at adventure sports sites in the region. Separate rules exist for adventure sports, with two committees at the district level responsible for overseeing these activities.
