Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd Raises Rs 2,237.44 Crore in Fund-Raising Exercise

New Delhi, June 16 - Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd (ZEEL) is planning to raise Rs 2,237.44 crore from its promoter group entities through a preferential issue, which will see an increase in the promoter shareholding stake.
As per the deal, the company's board of directors has approved the issuance of up to 16.95 crore fully convertible warrants to Altilis Technologies and Sunbright Mauritius Investments, two prominent promoter groups. The warrants are priced at Rs 132 per unit, representing a premium of Rs 3.42 over the prescribed SEBI guidelines.
The new fund-raise will enhance the promoter shareholding stake to an impressive 18.4%, which is expected to boost the entity's financial foundation and enable it to explore lucrative growth opportunities in the evolving media and entertainment landscape.
According to ZEEL, the promoters' participation in this exercise demonstrates their commitment to driving growth and strengthening the company's core business segments. The fresh infusion of cash will also facilitate strategic investments in potential avenues for expansion.
The company had recently completed an evaluation of its strategic growth plans with US investment banker JP Morgan, which provided valuable insights into various alternatives for augmenting its approach towards ambitious targets.
ZEEL has convened an Extraordinary General Meeting on July 10, 2025, to seek shareholders' approval for the issuance of warrants on a preferential basis. The company's chairman, R Gopalan, noted that the enhanced promoter shareholding will further fuel motivation among stakeholders to drive business growth in line with the revamped strategy.
Shares of Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd (ZEEL) closed at Rs 137.95 on Monday, up 0.44 per cent from the previous close, following this development.
