YouTube Launches Feature to Access Quality Health Tips Across India

New Delhi: Google-owned YouTube has taken a significant step towards improving the quality of health information available to Indian viewers. The platform announced new features aimed at helping users find high-quality health tips and advice from healthcare professionals on its vast online community.

Building on its existing initiatives, such as health source information panels and health content shelves, YouTube is now opening up application windows for registered doctors, nurses, mental health professionals, and health information providers to make their channels eligible for the platform's health product features. The move is designed to expand the range of reliable health information available on the platform.

"This will allow us to include high-quality information from a wider group of healthcare channels," Dr. Garth Graham, Director and Head of YouTube Health, wrote in a blog post. "We are excited to work with these additional voices to provide viewers with helpful resources and connect them with creators who can offer trusted guidance."

The expansion of YouTube's health-related features represents a significant development towards enabling users to easily discover and engage with high-quality health content from the platform's vast network of healthcare creators.

According to experts, this initiative aligns with India's growing trend of using online platforms for seeking medical advice and consultancies.
