Youth Empowerment Gains Centre Stage as All Women NSS National Integration Camp Held in J&K

JAMMU, JANUARY 03: The first-ever "All Women NSS National Integration Camp (NIC), 2025" took place at the Punjab Public School for Girls, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, with the aim of promoting women empowerment and emancipation. The event was organized by the Higher Education Department in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Government College for Women, Parade.

Additional Chief Secretary to the Unity Territory's Human Resources Department Shantmanu formally inaugurated the occasion. National Integration Camp is an annual undertaking that seeks to promote national unity through NSS activities. It serves to forge communal harmony among India's youth with diverse backgrounds and encourages communal understanding.

The camp saw over 25 regional directors' representatives, more than 200 volunteers in the National Service Scheme and several state contingents participate from all across the nation. In his opening message, Shantmanu stressed on the need for national integration as well as youth empowerment to uplift the nation's overall growth. He said that under NSS individuals may get involved as they work through outreach missions in education, environmental campaigns, or public health initiatives that have substantial social impact.

On the basis of this endeavour, Director colleges and SNO Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Wazir expressed a gratitude towards the National Service Scheme for providing avenues to serve humanity selflessly. In this context, NSS members showcase their compassion and work persistently in contributing meaningfully to other people's life span.

Camp commandant Dr Gurpreet Kour discussed briefly the 2025 NSS Integration Camp program. During the occasion several high-ranking authorities were also seen like Director Government Colleges' Rashmi Singh, Vice-Chancellor VC Cluster of Jammu University Professor K S Chandra Sekar and others in the field.

To celebrate "Nari Shakti" in addition to cultural performances regional dance and songs were showcased by the participants in this event celebrating India's diverse culture. The camp has served as a good platform for exchange among students participating from varying regions.
