You're Led astray without getting to the point - Vineeta Singh Shares Her Journey of Facing Over 200 Rejections in Latest Shark Tank India Episode
In a recent episode of Shark Tank India's fourth season, entrepreneur Nitin Chawla faced yet another rejection as he pitched his one-stop complaint-registering app, OneDios. Despite earning Rs 16 crore in finance and having an impressive pitch, the 'sharks' showed no interest in investing in his company.
Nitin had sought Rs 75 lakh in exchange for 1.5% stock, valuing his company at Rs 50 crore. He explained that OneDios reduces the time a consumer spends registering complaints with a firm, promising an ease of filling complaints within 60 seconds. The app also sells extended warranties and generates revenue from partnered brands.
However, during the pitch, Shark Varun Dua was unimpressed, stating that he had "burned a lot of money" in the extended warranty business due to "too many variables." He added, "If you want to continue lying to yourself, go ahead. But your business is over, it's been killed by AI." With no deal in sight, Nitin returned empty-handed but reassured that he wouldn't be deterred, having faced over 200 rejections.
In contrast, Shark Vineeta Singh found solace in her words of encouragement for Nitin. During a post-pitch interview, she said, "But you can sell without lying." Her advice highlighted the importance of authenticity and building trust with potential investors.
Nitin's experience serves as a motivational reminder that even the face of failure cannot define one's success.
