Patiala, [Date] - Yadavindra Public School (YPS) was enveloped in a cloud of nostalgia today as it hosted its 76th Annual Sports Day, bringing together over 1,400 students, alumni, and faculty in a celebration of sporting achievements and cherished memories.
The event commenced with various athletic displays, showcasing the physical prowess and competitive spirit of YPS students. However, the day was equally about the emotional reunion of alumni from different batches, including the silver jubilee (1999), golden jubilee (1974), and veteran Yadavandrians (OYs).
Alumni like Nakul Gupta, Satbir Khatra, and Gurjit Kohli from the class of 1999 shared feelings of timeless connection, stating, "It feels like it was yesterday that we were here." Their sentiments were echoed by Nooran Dhindsa, Geetika Mehta, and Ripujeet Sidhu, who felt the reunion strengthened their bond, pledging to remain connected for life.
The sports day not only honored the year's sporting achievements but also served as a platform for alumni to reflect on the impact of YPS on their personal and professional lives. Saket Bansal, Mazhal Ali, and Vishal Jain from the ISC 1999 batch highlighted the discipline and values instilled by the school as guiding lights through life's challenges.
Former Union Minister and YPS alumnus Pawan Bansal, attending the event, expressed a youthful exuberance, "I am not too old, and I still feel young when I am on these lush green fields."
The Headmaster, Navin Kumar Dixit, in his welcoming address, emphasized the unbreakable bond among YPS alumni, stating, "It only takes a few words — 'I am from the same school' — and an instant connection is made."
Colonel RPS Brar (retd), President of the Aitchison Yadavindra Old Students’ Association (AYOSA), shared a similar sentiment, noting the timeless nature of their connection to the school.
The day concluded with a formal dinner, where alumni of various ages mingled, rekindling old friendships and creating new memories. Japinder Bajwa, Smriti Jassar, and Jeevanjot Kathuria from the silver jubilee batch described the reunion as a moment to cherish forever, while Rajdeep Ahluwalia, Deepjyot, and Jassan Dullet added that even after 25 years, YPS continues to be a guiding force in their lives.
The 76th Annual Sports Day at YPS was not just a celebration of athletic achievements but a testament to the enduring spirit and camaraderie that defines the Yadavindra Public School community.
