Xiaomi Unveils XRING 01 Chipset: First-Ever In-House Design for Mobile Devices

Beijing, China - Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has officially revealed its highly-anticipated XRING 01 chipset, marking a significant milestone in the company's quest to establish itself as a major player in the mobile chip market. According to Xiaomi, the XRING 01 features a powerful deca-core CPU paired with an ARM Immortalis-G925 MC16 GPU.
While Xiaomi touts its new chipset as a game-changer, rival companies may also be interested in the Dimensity 9400, MediaTek's fastest competing chipset. Interestingly, despite sharing the same GPU, the Xiaomi XRING 01 boasts an impressive 16 shader cores, compared to the 12 found in the Dimensity 9400.
Built on TSMC's cutting-edge 3nm N3E process, the Xiaomi XRING 01 chip is said to have achieved a respectable AnTuTu score of approximately 30 million. However, according to recent reports by Wccftech, the actual score is slightly lower at around 26 million, which puts it in line with but still behind the scores of rival chips like the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400.
While the XRING 01 may not quite live up to initial expectations, Xiaomi's bold move is seen as a significant step forward for the company's ambitious plans in the mobile chip market. With this achievement, Xiaomi has solidified its position as a major force to be reckoned with in the global smartphone industry.
