WPL Announces Return of Third Season with Two New Teams

The World Padel League (WPL), which made its successful India debut in February this year, is set to return for its third season between August 12 to 16 at the Nesco Center in Mumbai. The league, supported by the Indian Padel Federation, promises an action-packed five-day event featuring top global padel players.

The upcoming season will see the WPL grow from four franchises to six, with two new teams joining the list of competitors. Fans, players and organizers are looking forward to this milestone as it marks a significant expansion and increase in competitiveness for the sport in India.

"Hemali Sharma, co-founder of WPL, expressed excitement about the upcoming season saying, "We have been witnessing an incredible growth trajectory for padel in India over the last few months. With the addition of two new teams this season, we are poised to expand our reach, push boundaries, and redefine what high-level competitive sports can offer. The league is going to create a spectacle that will attract both seasoned fans and newcomers alike."

Sneha Abraham Sehgal, President of Indian Padel Federation, echoed similar sentiments stating, "WPL has been instrumental in elevating padel's visibility in India with its international talent showcasing the sport with great enthusiasm and local engagement. We are thrilled to see a growing ecosystem of players and clubs who want to be at par with global standards."

Season 3 promises to deliver an electrifying experience for fans, with last year's winning team SG Pipers Cheetahs vying against newly introduced teams which will definitely lead to the enthralling matches this season.
