World Economic Forum 2025: Luxury Accommodations Breathe Easy for Global Elites at Davos
Davos, Switzerland - The 2025 World Economic Forum (WEF) kicked off on January 20, drawing global leaders and elite attendees to the luxurious Swiss mountain retreat. However, amidst the high-stakes meetings and high-profile interactions, ordinary travelers are struggling with astronomical accommodation prices.
According to a report by news website SEMAFOR, luxury hotel rates, including Airbnb options, have skyrocketed in Davos due to the influx of WEF attendees. A shared apartment with a shared bathroom costs an astonishing ₹1 lakh (approximately $13,600 USD) per night, while luxury options reach as high as ₹19 lakh ($2,600 USD).
Airbnb prices for rooms in popular accommodations during the WEF week start at over ₹1 lakh (around $13,600 USD), leaving many ordinary travelers with expensive choices when booking a room in a shared apartment. On the other end of the spectrum, luxury options are available but come with hefty price tags.
A camper van costs around ₹1.32 lakh ($18,300 USD) for 2 guests per night, while studio apartments charge approximately ₹2.90 lakh ($39,600 USD). Furthermore, three-and-a-half-room apartments reach exorbitant prices of ₹4.64 lakh ($62,400 USD). Notably, the price of these accommodations drops sharply after the conclusion of the WEF.
SEMAFOR's report also reveals high prices for two-bedroom and three-bedroom penthouse apartments during the annual meeting. Two-bedroom apartments cost around ₹7.81 lakh ($104,800 USD), while luxury options charge significantly more - approximately ₹15 lakh.
This year's World Economic Forum 2025, with its theme of 'Collaboration for the Intelligent Age,' promises to tackle pressing global issues and regional challenges faced by leaders worldwide.
