Nidhi founded Aks Clothing in 2014 with an initial investment of just Rs 3.5 lakh, which she scraped together to pursue her passion for fashion. Despite being a non-finisher degree holder, Nidhi pursued her B.Tech in Computer Science and later enrolled at the Polimoda International Institute of Fashion Design & Marketing to hone her skills in fashion and design.
Nidhi's journey began as an auditor at Deloitte but she soon realized that the job wasn't fulfilling her. With encouragement from colleagues and seniors, she took a leap of faith and quit her corporate job to follow her heart. After completing a one-year program in Florence, Italy, Nidhi returned to India with a bold plan to launch her own fashion brand.
Nidhi's game-changing strategy was introducing 20 new styles every two weeks, which helped her carve a niche in the competitive fashion market. The venture quickly gained momentum, achieving Rs 100 crore in revenue within just five years. By 2021, the company's revenue soared to Rs 200 crore without external funding.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Aks adapted by manufacturing masks and PPE kits to sustain operations while also launching a kidswear line made from leftover fabric, embracing sustainability. Nidhi's relentless hard work and dedication have not only made her brand a household name but redefined affordable fashion in India.
