New Delhi, Friday - In a significant milestone, India's Vande Bharat sleeper train has achieved a peak speed of 180 km per hour during multiple trials over the last three days on a 40-km stretch in Rajasthan, according to the Railway Ministry.
The ministry, in a press statement, announced that the trials would continue until the end of this month before the long-distance travel service is made available to rail commuters across the country. This is in line with the government's commitment to providing world-class travel facilities to its citizens through modern trains like Vande Bharat.
