UP PSC EXAM ASSAILANTS: Akhilesh Yadav Slams BJP Govt for Mismanagement
In a sharp attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday condemned the handling of the protests by UPPSC exam aspirants in Prayagraj and the failure to properly organize the exams.
The protests, which started three days ago, are against the UPPSC's decision to conduct the Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer (RO-ARO) and Provincial Civil Service (PCS) preliminary examinations on different dates. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission recently postponed the RO-ARO exam and announced that it would hold the PCS exam in the old pattern in a single day.
Yadav, who expressed solidarity with the protesters, attacked the BJP government for its inability to ensure smooth conduct of competitive exams in the state. "Those who talk about 'One Nation, One Election' cannot even manage exams for students on a single day," he said at an election rally in Phulpur.
The Kannauj MP accused the BJP government of ruining the future of youngsters due to exam paper leaks, frequent postponements and cancellations. He also posted on X, stating that if the "arrogant" BJP government thinks it can silence the protesting aspirants by removing them from the UPPSC office in Allahabad, then it is making a grave mistake.
Yadav further stated that movements are fought with the mind, not the body, and that the world has not yet developed a power to take the mind into custody. He also expressed hope that the BJP government would stop the atrocities and fulfill the democratic legitimate demands of the protesting aspirants.
The Samajwadi Party chief claimed that the BJP is on the verge of being finished forever as candidates today are saying, "we don't want BJP!"
The protests by UPPSC exam aspirants have entered its fourth day outside the Commission headquarters in Prayagraj. The situation remains tense with thousands of students demanding their demands.
