University Of Hyderabad Secures Rs 5 Cr Hal Csr Grant To Set Up Centre Of Excellence In Digital Twin Technology

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been awarded a massive Rs 5 crore CSR grant from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to establish a cutting-edge Centre of Excellence in Digital Twin Technology. This significant investment aims to boost the university's research and innovation capabilities, with a focus on advancing technological research relevant to India.
The HAL CSR fund will be utilized to set up an advanced digital twin research lab, a training facility for practical skill development, and a state-of-the-art auditorium at UoH. These facilities will support ongoing training programs and workshops focused on upskilling students and researchers in digital twin technologies, driving innovation in sectors like aerospace, healthcare, manufacturing, and smart infrastructure.
According to sources, the Centre of Excellence will play a pivotal role in promoting advanced research, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and capacity building in digital twin systems. Dr. Samrat Sabat, leading the project implementation at UoH's AI research cluster under IOE Interdisciplinary Centre, is expected to drive this initiative forward.
Commenting on the occasion, Prof. BJ Rao, Vice Chancellor of UoH, stated that the upcoming Centre will serve as a national resource for innovation and human resource development in digital twin technology.
