Trump Nominates Sean Duffy as Transportation Secretary
Washington DC: In a move to round out his Cabinet, US President-elect Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will name former Wisconsin Representative Sean Duffy as his nominee for Transportation Secretary.
Duffy, who is best known for being a reality TV star and a former defender of Trump's on cable news, will bring a unique set of skills to the newly tasked role. A seasoned politician with nearly nine years of experience in Congress, Duffy was a member of the Financial Services Committee and served as chairman of the subcommittee on insurance and housing.
The appointment comes as Trump continues to assemble his team for his incoming administration. The move is seen as significant, given Duffy's visibility as a strong supporter of the president-elect on cable news. Additionally, his experience in public service will bring an insider's perspective to the transportation secretary role.
Duffy stepped down from Congress in 2019 to pursue other ventures, including co-hosting a show on Fox Business, "The Bottom Line". As Transportation Secretary, he is expected to tackle key issues such as infrastructure development and improving America's transportation systems.
