Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding Signed to Elevate IMS, BHU into World-Class Institute
New Delhi, [Date] - A groundbreaking Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed among the Ministry of Education, Institute of Medical Sciences-Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU), and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today, marked by Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan alongside Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Shri J.P. Nadda.
This historic signing is aimed at redefining the future of healthcare, education, and research in India, with a primary focus on enhancing the Institute of Medical Sciences-BHU's (IMS-BHU) capabilities to provide high-quality medical services. The MoU grants IMS-BHU financial assistance on par with new AIIMS established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), thereby augmenting its healthcare infrastructure.
According to Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, this MoU will foster intensified academic and research collaborations between IMS-BHU and other institutions. This collaboration aims at upgrading clinical facilities, adopting cutting-edge surgical techniques like robotics surgeries, hospital management systems, and governance structures.
"Today's signing represents a major milestone towards redefining the future of healthcare, education, and research in our country," Shri Pradhan said, emphasizing that the MoU will further strengthen IMS-BHU's position as an exceptional world-class institute. "We must strive for excellence and collaborate with esteemed institutions such as national-level Higher Educational Institutions and global counterpart organizations to enhance our academic standards."
Shri J.P. Nadda commended this MoU by underscoring the Union Government's commitment to fostering collaboration under a ‘Whole of Government’ approach, which encourages increased collaboration among governmental departments in pursuit of shared goals that ultimately benefit the general public.
Through this groundbreaking MoU, India is moving away from conventional approaches toward more integrated and inclusive development in both healthcare and education sectors. It marks an essential step forward for addressing regional needs through comprehensive development efforts.
