Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee Launches Unique Doorstep Medical Health Camp Programme 'Sebaashray'
Kolkata: Amidst the ongoing controversy over RG Kar incidents since August and questions raised by doctors about the need for a holistic healthcare system, Trinamool National General Secretary and Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee has launched a unique doorstep medical health camp facility called 'Sebaashray'. This innovative program aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the residents of his Parliamentary Constituency.
Banerjee announced that under the 'Sebaashray' initiative, 23-24 lakh people in the constituency will receive free health services, medicine, testing facilities, an awareness booklet, and unique IDs. He also encouraged all citizens to participate in the camps, stating that regardless of their voting record or affiliation with any particular faction, all are welcome to access these essential healthcare services.
Over the next 75 days, 'Sebaashray' health camps will be organized across seven assembly constituencies in Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency. Around 40-50 camps will be conducted every 10 days, totaling 300 camps, and featuring approximately 1200 doctors operating under one roof for the first time in India.
These massive healthcare events will offer a wide range of medical services, including specialized facilities such as eye clinics, cancer detection units, and diagnostic services. Notably, doctors will be present to conduct open patients' consultations in OPD settings. The camps are designed with multiple amenities such as registration desks, help centers, restrooms for the medical teams, three specialist chambers, and volunteer support systems.
Banerjee also mentioned that they have created a comprehensive operational model featuring six basic diagnostic tests. He noted the involvement of volunteers, nurses, health workers, pharmacists, and lab technicians to ensure proper care delivery throughout these extensive outreach programs which will be continuously available during the operation period within every assembly constituency (AC) in Diamond Harbour.
"Sebaashray" showcases the efforts of Trinamool towards bringing universal access to essential healthcare, particularly addressing regional disparities through grassroots solutions. The innovative service is poised to bring lasting change and positive impact on public health across this parliamentary district.
