TN Takes Leap in AI Revolution with $50 Million AI Lab and Centre of Excellence
Tamil Nadu has taken a significant step forward in embracing the Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution, announcing plans for the establishment of 2 million square foot AI laboratories across the state and setting up a Centre of Excellence for AI.
The state government, driven by its ambitious vision to make Tamil Nadu the epicentre of the AI hub "Chenn-AI", has partnered with global giants such as Google, PayPal, Applied Materials, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and several other investors under a public-private partnership mode.
According to sources close to the government, the setting up of the Coimbatore facility marks another major milestone in the state's AI initiatives. Spread over 2 million square feet, the lab will serve as a hub for research and development, innovation, and collaboration between industry experts, researchers, and academia.
