TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee Plans Extensive Health Camps in Diamond Harbour
Kolkata, November 2023 - In a significant move towards enhancing healthcare accessibility, Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary and Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee has announced plans to establish numerous free health check-up camps across his constituency. These camps are set to begin operations from December 10-15, covering all seven Assembly segments under Diamond Harbour.
During the Bijoya Sammelani event at the Amtala party office, Banerjee outlined the logistics for these health camps, indicating a shift from traditional community events like the Diamond Harbour MP Cup Tournament to focus more on public health. The initiative aims to provide free medical examinations, with an estimated 300 camps to be opened, each running for approximately 30 to 45 days. A dedicated team of 500-600 doctors will be on hand to cater to the health needs of the local populace.
This initiative mirrors a successful model previously employed during the Covid-19 period when similar health camps were set up in Diamond Harbour, earning praise for their effectiveness.
In addition to his health-related announcements, Banerjee, who recently returned from the USA after undergoing eye surgery, made his first public appearance last Thursday on his birthday, interacting with supporters at his Kalighat residence. His engagement continued over the weekend as he met with party leaders at Amtala, where he was greeted by hundreds of TMC supporters and local residents.
Banerjee also introduced a new help desk at the event, designed to facilitate direct communication for grievances from constituents, building on his earlier popular initiative "Ek Daake Abhishek," which allowed constituents to voice their concerns directly to him.
This series of health camps and community engagement efforts underscores Banerjee's commitment to public welfare and effective governance in his constituency, aiming to address both immediate health concerns and broader community needs.
