Kohli on Verge of Surpassing Tendulkar's Record in Tests as India Take on Australia
MUMBAI, INDIA - Cricket fans across the country are in a state of anticipation as Indian batter Virat Kohli is poised to achieve yet another milestone in his illustrious career when India takes on Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth.
Speaking with the media after India's training session, former cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar said that it was "time" for younger generations of Indian cricketers like Kohli to take the reins and lead the team to victory.
Kohli currently boasts an impressive record of 2,042 runs in 25 Tests (home and away) against Australia, with over 100 more needed to surpass Tendulkar's record of 3,630 runs in 39 matches. His average is a staggering 47.48.
Kolhi is not the only player on this list who will be on the hunt for records that were set by legends. Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid holds the fifth spot with 2,143 runs scored against Australia, averaging 52.67 - and this number puts him right in line with what Kohli's numbers have.
