'Time Has Come To Decide If You Want Stay United Or Congress Will Take Away Your Quotas': PM Modi In Maharashtra

Mumbai, November 12, 2024 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Opposition Maha Vikas Agadi while addressing a public rally in poll-bound Chandrapur's Chimur, saying Aghadi meant "biggest players of corruption".

Addressing a large gathering, PM Modi said that Maharashtra is witnessing rapid development under a double-engine government, and Congress is a double PhD in it. He also took a dig at the grand old party, saying they want to divide people based on their caste.

"Agar aap ek nahi rahe, aapki ek juta tuti, sabse pehle congress aapka reservation cheen legi," he said.

However, PM Modi urged people to stay united to prosper. "The Opposition wants to tear you apart. If you stay together and come as one, we will give you justice."

Addressing the public rally at Chimur, Prime Minister Modi launched a scathing attack on the Maha Vikas Agadi alliance, saying that the Opposition has done a PhD in braking development.

The polls for the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra are set to take place in a single phase on November 20, with the vote count scheduled for November 23. The election is seen as a crucial test of strength for various political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is an ally of the present Mahayuti government.

As campaigning for the elections comes to an end, Prime Minister Modi is set to address two more public rallies in Solapur and Pune. His scheduled rallies are a strategic move by the BJP to minimize any damage in what is considered an NCP-Congress stronghold.

The region's importance to the BJP's poll calculations is apparent when one looks at PM Modi's quick visits to Wardha and Washim on September 20 and October 5, respectively. During those visits, the Prime Minister focused on agriculture, the textile sector, and OBCs.

With less than a week to go for campaigning to end, the stage is set for an intense battle among various political parties in the polls. As PM Modi's rallies take place, it will be interesting to see how the BJP strategists plan to overcome any cracks in their organization at the ground level.
