Tensions Flare as BJP MLA's Coronation Sparked Royal Rumblings in Udaipur
Udaipur, Nov 26: A bitter feud within the erstwhile royal family of Mewar has taken a violent turn after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Vishvaraj Singh Mewar was crowned as the 77th Maharana of Mewar. The standoff between Vishvaraj Singh and his cousin, Dr Lakshay Raj Singh Mewar, escalated into a scuffle outside the City Palace when the MLA's supporters attempted to storm the palace gates, throwing stones in protest.
Eyewitnesses reported that Arvind Singh Mewar, the uncle of Vishvaraj Singh, was seen retaliating from inside the palace, fueling further tensions. The confrontation between rival factions drew a significant security presence as the situation remained volatile in the wake of the coronation ceremony. As investigations into the incident continue, questions surrounding the historical legacy and jurisdiction of the Mewar throne remain unanswered.
