Telangana man found hanging in Qatar after failed business, mounting debt
A 56-year-old Telangana native from Nizamabad district was found dead on the outskirts of Doha city in Qatar, according to official reports. Ganta Chinnamutthenna, a former resident of Armoor mandal, had spent nearly two decades working in Qatar before starting a dairy business in India. However, financial losses left him with significant debt, forcing him to return to his employer and struggling with depression.
Chinnamutthenna's saga began when he had moved back to Qatar after failing his entrepreneurial venture in India, where he was caught in a tight economic loop due to losses from his dairy business. Despite a year of hard work, the business proved unsuccessful. According to family sources, before taking the extreme step, Chinnamutthenna had handed some cash over to a friend to assist with purchasing an air ticket for his return journey.
Chinnamutthenna had planned to continue working in Qatar under new employment terms but unfortunately took to not wanting to face issues that arose soon after and was reported to have told close relatives that although money can buy life, it cannot be substituted by his death, he allegedly said "After my body is gone, you can claim 5 lakh from the CM". In an emotional turn of events, Chinnamutthenna's family had hoped for an ex-gratia payment in memory of him as promised by chief minister A. Revanth Reddy to assist families of those deceased working abroad.
In a sad sequence of events his lifeless body has come home to be provided dignity and the necessary solace during this time of great sorrow. With assistance from the Indian Embassy, Chinnamutthenna's body has been brought back to Hyderabad for final rites in a country deeply bereaved by the recent passing of a valued citizen due to hard labor and hardships faced while taking care of his beloved family in their home-land.
