Suspension of Block Medical Officer in Rajouri for Duty Neglect
Jammu, Nov 26 (Alayaran.com) - In a significant administrative action aimed at ensuring healthcare efficiency, Rajouri Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma suspended a Block Medical Officer (BMO) on Sunday due to gross dereliction of duty. The decision followed a surprise inspection at the Sub-Division Hospital in Darhal, which revealed a shocking absence of staff, with only one doctor and a technician present.
The inspection, conducted to assess the hospital's winter preparedness, highlighted a severe lapse in the provision of healthcare services, particularly alarming as the region braces for the harsh winter conditions.
Immediate Measures Taken
Upon discovering the situation, Deputy Commissioner Sharma promptly suspended the BMO of Darhal and attached him to the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajouri. The CMO Rajouri has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of overseeing the operations at BMO Darhal to maintain continuity in healthcare delivery.
Inquiry Initiated
To further address this issue, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Raj Kumar Thapa has been appointed as the inquiry officer. He has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the negligence and is expected to submit a detailed report within three days.
Commitment to Public Welfare
Deputy Commissioner Sharma emphasized the administration's dedication to ensuring effective service delivery, especially during critical times like the winter season. He warned that any form of negligence that compromises public welfare would face strict repercussions.
This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by the administration to uphold accountability and efficiency within public service sectors, particularly in healthcare, which is vital for the well-being of the community.
