Sports Authority Tossed New Challenge to DDA

Lieutenant-Governor VK Saxena recently reviewed the performance of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) sports complexes and directed efforts to boost sports in the city, setting a target of winning at least five medals per complex in the 2036 Olympics.

An additional initiative has been announced by the L-G's officials - an introduction of a new 'L-G Cup' for Archery and Shooting tournaments. The concept is based on the existing 'L-G Cup' for Golf, which won several awards to Delhi's shooters. This move aims to enhance the sporting culture in the region and showcase India's talent on international stages.

Accident Tragedy Claimed Lives of Woman and Minor Boy

In separate incidents, a woman met her demise when she fell under the wheels of an MCD truck. The accident occurred near Nauroji Nagar as Har Devi (47) rode her scooter when it collided with an unidentified vehicle coming from behind.

The couple was on their way to Nangloi. Despite receiving minor injuries, Shyam Charan (49) managed to save his wife. Police have launched inquiry into the incident that took place in the evening hours.

Moreover, 15-year-old boy met his untimely demise after being brutally thrashed following a dispute with someone near Anand Vihar. After entering into an argument on Nala Road, the victim suffered serious blow to his head from behind when a fellow person attacked him using a wooden stick.
