SRINAGAR, INDIA - A pioneering initiative by the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir has kicked off an intensive training program aimed at nurturing a generation of innovators and entrepreneurs who can drive transformative ideas in India's agricultural sector. The program is being conducted in collaboration with AVPL International, an industry leader in drone technology, under the funding of the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

The comprehensive training programme, held at SKUAST's Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (CAIML), focuses on advancing drone technology skills among aspiring agritech professionals. With a mix of renowned experts from across India participating in the sessions, the training program delves into key drone technologies and their applications in sustainable farming practices.

Experts highlighted the significance of precision farming in ensuring environmental sustainability, emphasizing that integrating drones with AI-driven imaging and IoT integration is crucial for creating impactful solutions in agriculture. A significant collaboration between SKUAST, AVPL International, ICAR Sher-e-Kashmir, IoTechWorld Avigation, MACFOS LIMITED, and IIT Mandi helped organize the extensive training sessions.

Prof. Nazir A. Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST, commended AVPL’s groundbreaking initiatives in agriculture, while praising the crucial role of CAIML's projects on artificial intelligence and machine learning in shaping future advancements in agricultural technology.
