Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya's Shocking Remarks Spark Controversy
New Delhi: Playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya sparked controversy with his remarks on Mahatma Gandhi, drawing a comparison between music composer R.D. Burman and the Indian freedom fighter.
While reflecting on legendary music composer R.D. Burman, Bhattacharya drew comparisons between Burman and Gandhi, surprisingly stating that Gandhi was not the father of India but rather of Pakistan. The singer made this statement during a podcast discussion while discussing Burman.
According to Bhattacharya's claims, "Pancham Da was bigger than Mahatma Gandhi. Like Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation, Pancham Da was the father of the nation in the world of music."
