Siddharth Mocks Huge Fan Gatherings at Pushpa 2 Promotional Events
Hyderabad-based actor Siddharth has sparked a controversy by mocking huge fan gatherings at the promotional events of Allu Arjun-starrer film Pushpa 2: The Rule, according to reports.
The commotion erupted in Patna's historic Gandhi Maidan on November 17, when a massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the cast members, including Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. Amidst such overwhelming enthusiasm for a Bollywood movie, Siddharth expressed his skepticism about the quality associated with huge crowds, as reported by NDTV.
In a viral video, he was seen comparing the fan gathering at Patna to that of people congregating around a JCB (heavy construction vehicle) digging site, stating, "That's all marketing. It's not a big deal to gather a crowd in India." He further emphasized that there is no direct correlation between massive crowds and quality in India.
Siddharth's remarks have generated diverse reactions online, with some users expressing their admiration for his straightforwardness, while others criticized him for being hostile and bitter. Some took to social media to defend Siddhart, labeling his comments as an exercise in jealousy, whereas others felt that he needed to show more grace and positivity as a senior actor.
When questioned about his film Miss You being overshadowed by Pushpa 2: The Rule during a recent press meet, Siddharth expressed concern about the challenges associated with releasing his movie on schedule. He stressed that if the film was good, it would reach theaters regardless of social media hype.
