Shreyanka Patil Wins Breakthrough Performance Award at Indian Sports Honours 2024

Mumbai, November 9, 2024 - Shreyanka Patil, the dynamic Indian women's cricket all-rounder, turned heads and captured hearts at the Indian Sports Honours 2024 awards held on Saturday. The 22-year-old not only made a striking entrance on the red carpet in a dazzling blue outfit but also clinched the prestigious 'Breakthrough Performance of the Year Female' award.

The ceremony, which took place amidst much fanfare, saw Shreyanka outshining her competitors in her category, which included notable athletes like sport shooter Esha Singh, swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu, and women’s hockey captain Salima Tete.

Shreyanka's rise in international cricket has been meteoric. Since her debut last December during India Women’s home season against England and Australia, she has made significant contributions to the team. In 2024 alone, she has secured 15 wickets in 13 T20I matches and added four wickets from two ODI appearances. Her pivotal role was evident in India’s 3-0 ODI series victory over South Africa Women in June, and she played a crucial part in leveling the T20I series against the same opponents the following month.

Her talents were also showcased in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024, where she was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Women's team that clinched the title.
