Shreyanka Patil Shines at Indian Sports Honours 2024, Wins Breakthrough Performance Award

New Delhi, November 9, 2024 - Shreyanka Patil, the 22-year-old Indian women’s cricket all-rounder, turned heads at the Indian Sports Honours 2024 awards with her stunning appearance on the red carpet. Dressed in a vibrant blue ensemble, Patil not only captured the attention of the media but also clinched the 'Breakthrough Performance of the Year Female' award.

The ceremony, held on Saturday, saw Patil nominated alongside notable athletes like sport shooter Esha Singh, swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu, and women's hockey captain Salima Tete. Her victory in the category underscores her rising stature in Indian sports.

Patil's international journey began in December of the previous year during India's home season against England and Australia. Throughout 2024, she has been impressive, securing 15 wickets in 13 T20I matches and adding four more in two ODIs. Her pivotal performances included a significant contribution in India's 3-0 ODI series victory over South Africa in June and a match-defining spell in the series-levelling T20I win against South Africa in July.

Her accolades don't stop there; earlier in the year, she was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Women’s team, which won the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024.

In addition to Patil's triumph, the event also recognized other young talents. Indian cricket's rising star, Yashasvi Jaiswal, won the 'Breakthrough Performance of the Year Male' award, outshining cricketer Rinku Singh, hockey star Abhishek Nain, and sports shooter Sarabjot Singh.
