SHIV SENA LEADERS DISMISS RUMORS OF EKNATH SHINDE SPENDING TIME IN VILLAGE, SAY BIG DECISION ON THE HORIZON
In a move aimed at quelling speculation surrounding the succession of Maharashtra's chief ministerial post, Shiv Sena leaders have assured that a major decision will be taken soon by Caretaker CM Eknath Shinde.
Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant clarified on Thursday that Shinde was not upset and had been dealing with health issues during his recent visit to Delhi. "He (Shinde) is not upset," Samant stated, citing Shinde's meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital as evidence. "Even in Delhi, he was down with fever and cold."
Samant dismissed rumors that Shinde had hurried back to his home district of Satara due to being upset over a big decision. Instead, he claimed that one could face health issues anywhere without jumping to conclusions.
Moreover, Samant revealed that if the crucial meeting between Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar is postponed due to circumstances such as a global pandemic or weather conditions, it can still be facilitated via virtual mode.
Noted Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat further chimed in stating that there are possibilities of Eknath Shinde making big decisions over the next 24 hours. The senior politician made an official declaration stating "When he (Eknath Shinde) has to make a decision, he goes to his home district."
Also adding their weight to the rumors' dismissal is his account on December's 2nd oath ceremony for the state, where he will presumably finalize details about who would become Maharashtra CM.
A meeting was held at the Union Home Minister Amit Shah's residence with both Mahayuti coalition leaders present.
