Shiv Sena Credits Welfare Schemes for Historic Victory in Maharashtra Assembly Election
New Delhi: Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande on Tuesday expressed gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for their overwhelming support, stating that the party's historic victory was a testament to the public's trust in its development goals.
The results of the Maharashtra Assembly election were announced on Monday, with the Shiv Sena emerging as the single-largest party, securing a landslide victory. Manisha Kayande attributed the party's success to impactful welfare schemes launched by the government, including the CM's Ladki Bahan Scheme, the Ahilyabai Holkar Scheme, and the Annapurna Scheme.
"She credited these initiatives for directly benefiting the people and contributing to the party's victory. The slogan 'Ek Hain, To Safe Hain' was a call for unity," reports IANS.
Manisha Kayande also lashed out at opposition parties, including MVA (Maha Vikas Aayatana), accusing them of misleading voters with divisive narratives. "The people outrightly rejected such narratives and gave a thumbs down to their policies."
Referring to the poor performance of Congress in the election, Manisha Kayande stated that the party was "not even worth considered worthy of being in the opposition" - giving credence to voter dissatisfaction.
When asked about the new Chief Minister, Manisha Kayande expressed her support for Eknath Shinde but left room for further discussion on the matter.
