Shillong's Steve Jyrwa Crowned India's Best Dancer Season 4 Winner
In a thrilling finale, Shillong's young dancer Steve Jyrwa has emerged as the winner of Season 4 of India's Best Dancer. The 24-year-old took home a cash prize of Rs 15 lakhs and a brand new car, as well as the coveted trophy.
Steve's choreographer Raktim Thakuria also bagged a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs. The show's judges on this season were Karisma Kapoor, Geeta Kapur, and Terence Lewis.
Competing against strong rivals like Harsh Keshri, Nextion, Nepo, Akanksha Mishra aka Akina, and Aditya Malviya, Steve outshone them all to secure his victory. His victory is even more remarkable given the struggles his family had initially put up against his decision to pursue a career in dance.
The Dreams Come True
At times, pursuing one's passions can be quite challenging, but for Steve, this season of India's Best Dancer Season 4 has shown that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Steve expressed his gratitude towards his family for finally accepting him as a dancer: "This achievement is very important for me. I have seen my family struggle a lot because of me in terms of money and with relatives too... The fact that we can accomplish a lot of things with dance has proven them wrong."
A Childhood Struggle
Steve revealed in an interview with Times Now how he had struggled to walk as a child, something which only improved significantly after the influence of his grandmother. "The kid who couldn’t work has become famous for footwork... As a child, I couldn’t walk and danced so well and got so much appreciation for my footwork..."
Rememaking Dreams
Remo D’souza, a legendary dancer and choreographer, was seen in the grand finale of India's Best Dancer. After Steve's performance on that night, Remo met him personally to offer him a role in one of his projects – an exciting opportunity awaiting for this talented artist.
Speaking to Times Now, Steve has hinted at being associated with other shows; "I have been approached by Malaika Arora and Remo Dsouza for the show Champions Ka Tashan versus India's Best Dancer. It will be starting from 16th November."
Steve celebrates his historic win after months of determination and self-doubt. He is determined to reach new heights using dance, a craft taught by him with such passion as to help all.
