Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry strengthens economic ties with Pakistan
Sharjah, UAE - November 25 - The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is reaffirming its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen connections between business communities in the emirate and across the globe. According toAssistant Director-General Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, SCCI has been working diligently to expand economic ties with partners such as Pakistan.
During the recent Sharjah-Pakistan Business Forum hosted by the Sharjah Foreign Direct Investment Office (Invest in Sharjah), SCCI showcased its efforts to solidify Sharjah's position as a leading economic hub. Over 200 investors and entrepreneurs from various sectors attended the event, creating new opportunities for collaboration between businesses and investors in Sharjah and Pakistan.
This move is part of SCCI's broader network of business councils operating under its umbrella, including the newly established Pakistan Business Council. The Council plays a significant role in strengthening investment and trade relations between Sharjah and Pakistan.
"Sharjah-Pakistan Business Forum has created new opportunities for collaboration between businesses and investors," said Al Shamsi. "We are determined to continue exploring investment opportunities in both countries and forging strategic partnerships that serve shared aspirations."
In the past year alone, non-oil foreign trade volume between the UAE and Pakistan reached AED 25.7 billion, marking a 30 per cent increase compared to 2021.
Additionally, SCCI has launched initiatives such as the Business Councils and Common Committees Section under its umbrella. The section, led by Hiba Al Marzouqi, aims to foster partnerships between Sharjah's business community and its counterparts worldwide, promoting economic ties through various mechanisms.
