Seven Dead, Four Critically Injured in RTC Bus-Auto Collision Near Anantapur
A devastating bus-tractor (RTC) collision occurred late last night near Thalagaspalle in Garadinne Mandal of Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh, leaving seven people dead and four critically injured. The deceased include the drivers of both vehicles, as well as six agricultural labourers.
According to eyewitnesses, an RTC bus coming from the opposite direction collided with an auto carrying 12 agricultural labourers from Nellutla village in Kuttluru Mandal who were on their way back from work. Among those killed, two died immediately at the scene, while another succumbed to his injuries during treatment later.
Two more individuals passed away while being transported to the hospital through road ambulance services. The remaining three deceased were identified as Ramadas, Chinnu, and Lakshman.
The injured labourers are receiving medical aid at the Anantapur Government Hospital with some in critical condition. Police have taken the driver of the RTC bus into custody for further investigation into the incident.
District SP Jagadeesh and DSP Venkateswarulu inspected the accident site to gather evidence. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced shock over the tragic incident, urging compassion towards those affected by it. As part of their response to cope with the aftermath, he offered compensation to the families of the deceased.
