Scientific Brilliance on Display as Pushpa Gujral Science City Unveils 2024's Science Fest

Chandigarh, Punjab - In a grand celebration of innovation and creativity, Pushpa Gujral Science City marked the launch of its highly anticipated Science Fest 2024. Over more than 400 students from across Punjab gathered to showcase their working models in various fields of science and technology, setting the stage for a spectacular exhibition.

The event, attended by students, teachers, and distinguished guests, was inaugurated with the presence of Dr Neelima Jerath, former Director General, Science City. In her address, she highlighted the fundamental connection between development and technology, emphasizing that technological progress relies on scientific breakthroughs.

Dr Rajesh Grover, Director, Science City, underscored the essential role of innovation and creativity in contemporary times. He emphasized that innovation has become a vital engine for sustainable growth and competitiveness, particularly in an increasingly globalized world.

The occasion also saw a special appearance by scientist Ritesh Pathak, who encouraged young innovators to join the Innovation Hub facility at Science City to turn their creative ideas into practical applications. Two expert evaluators, Dr Vikas Handa from Thapar University, Patiala, and Dr Anurag Sharma from GNA University, Phagwara, played a pivotal role in assessing the students' innovative projects.

The Science Fest 2024 concluded with several notable achievements, including the top three positions awarded to schools at different levels. Innocent Heart School, Loharan, Jalandhar, secured first place (Project: Revival), followed closely by Sarvhitkari Vidya Mandir Bhikhi, Amritsar (Air Pollution Control), and LADM DAV Senior Secondary School, Budhlada, Mansa (Devin AI).
