Science Lab on Wheels Launched: Initiative to Promote Practical Learning Experiences for Rural Students
A specially equipped van has been launched by the Telangana Development Forum (TDF) to deliver hands-on science learning experiences to students at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas in Yadadri district.
The Science Lab on Wheels, which made its debut on Wednesday, is equipped with cutting-edge practical science and mathematics equipment, virtual reality headsets, and other tools designed to ignite interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education among students, particularly girls from rural areas.
At the launch ceremony attended by Samagra Shiksha Joint Director P Rajeev, KGBV State Coordinator Dr Shirisha, Yadadri District Education Officer Satyanarayana, TDF aims to bridge the gap in practical education for rural students. The initiative promises a unique learning experience with hands-on experiments and interactive sessions.
The Science Lab on Wheels will directly benefit over 2,200 girls from 11 KGBV schools in Yadadri district, allowing them to explore science beyond theoretical knowledge. TDF's goal is to not only enhance their learning experiences but also foster curiosity, innovation, and a love for STEM education among the youth.
The Telangana Development Forum plans to expand this project across the state by securing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding. The new initiative aims to create more opportunities for students to engage with science in an enjoyable hands-on manner, paving the way for its expansion to additional areas by June 2025.
