Chennai, Nov [month]: Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has revealed that her recent venture into pickleball has been a life-changing experience and has taught her valuable lessons about sportsmanship and perseverance. The 36-year-old actress, who owns the Chennai Super Champs pickleball team that competed in the inaugural World Pickleball League (WPBL) competition, shared her journey on Instagram.
Sharing her initial hesitation towards sports, Samantha revealed that she had always avoided participating due to her fear of losing. However, after witnessing the qualities of athletes and the spirit of sportsmanship, she decided to take the plunge and purchase the team's ownership.
"I was hesitant at first because I had always dreaded losing," she wrote on Instagram. "But something about the world of sports has intrigued me, and when the opportunity came up, I jumped right in."
Samantha went on to express her gratitude for the lessons she learned from her team during their WPBL campaign, despite facing several challenges. She commended her teammates Raj and Himank for showing relentless spirit, despite their injuries, saying that they have given her a fresh perspective.
"The excitement, growth, realisation that in sports it's all about learning, evolving beyond wins and losses, and pushing beyond limits... has taught me so much," she wrote.
As the captain of her team, Samantha expressed her enthusiasm for what lies ahead and announced that this is just the beginning.
