S sophisticated Assault Rifles Recovered in Arunachal Pradesh, Security Forces Hail Successful Joint Operation

ITANAGAR, ARUNACHAL PRADESH - A joint operation by security forces recovered ten types of highly sophisticated assault rifles from the Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. This successful recovery marks one of the largest in the region.

According to Defence spokesman, a coordinated effort by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Arunachal Pradesh police led to the uncovering of the hidden cache. Specialists employed their expertise and cutting-edge technology, including drones and tracker dogs equipped with metal detectors and other devices.

Sources reveal that the alleged masterminds behind the cache were the Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG), a Naga militant group, which concealed large quantities of weapons in the forested areas six months ago.

The Defence official also stated that prior to conducting the operation, security personnel ensured a safe passage for tourists present in the Namdapha Reserve Forest. The successful operation underscores the unwavering dedication of security forces to maintaining peace and security in Arunachal Pradesh.

Notably, 15 Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) cadres surrendered last March and laid down their arms before Chief Minister Pema Khandu and officers from law enforcement agencies at Itanagar.
