Russia's Putin Speaks with US President Again Amid Ongoing Tensions

MOSCOW, RUSSIA - Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with US President Donald Trump on Saturday, joining the conversation mid-way through one with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, according to Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov.

During their discussion, Ushakov revealed that the three leaders focused on preventing the escalation of tensions in Ukraine. The Russian side emphasized its readiness to carry out possible mediation efforts, aiming for de-escalation in the conflict-ridden region.

Additionally, Putin expressed his willingness to continue negotiations with Ukraine after June 22, as stated by Ushakov. This statement suggests that Russia remains committed to diplomacy and dialogue regarding the Ukraine situation.

The telephone conversation between Putin and Trump marks the third call this month and the fifth since the start of the year, according to Ushakov. The ongoing relationship dynamics between Russia and US hint at shifting global priorities amidst diplomatic efforts.
