Russian Drone and Missile Attack on Ukrainian City of Sumy Devastates Lives and Infra

A devastating drone and missile attack by Russian forces in Ukraine has left a trail of destruction, killing eight people and injuring dozens more, officials said on Sunday. The strike targeted a nine-story building in the city of Sumy in northern Ukraine, where 40 kilometers from the border with Russia.

According to Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, at least two children were among the victims of the attack. In total over 400 people managed to evacuate the building before the explosions occurred.

Rescuers are currently working tirelessly to locate and free any remaining persons trapped in the damaged structure. As they search every apartment, the full extent of the devastation is beginning to emerge. The latest Russian missile strikes remain the most extensive on Ukraine's soil in several months.
