RUSSIAN DRONE AND MISSILE ATTACK ON UKRAINE LEAVES EIGHT DEAD AND DOZENS INJURED
MOSCOW, Nov 19 - A devastating Russian strike on a nine-story building in the Ukrainian city of Sumy has left eight people dead and dozens injured, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The strike, which was described as one of the largest in recent months, targeted the building located approximately 40 kilometers from the border with Russia. According to Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, two children were among those killed in the attack.
More than 400 people were evacuated from the building, where rescuers were conducting a thorough search for any remaining victims. "We are checking every apartment and basement level to ensure that everyone is accounted for," said an official, who asked not to be named.
The scale of destruction caused by the Russian strike was only revealed after the initial evacuation efforts, with widespread damage reported in the building. The attack comes amid rising tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with both countries accusing each other of aggression and provocation.
