Russian Drone and Missile Attack Kills 8 in Ukrainian City

A devastating Russian strike on a nine-story building in Ukraine's city of Sumy has left eight people dead and dozens wounded, according to an official statement issued on Sunday.

The attack, described as the largest in recent months, brought a massive drone-and-missile barrage down on the city. The city lies just 24 miles from the Russian border, adding to concerns about the escalating tensions between the two nations.

Among those killed in the attack were two children, confirmed by Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko. A total of over 400 people were evacuated from the building, which was badly damaged during the strike.

Rescue efforts are currently underway, with officials inspecting every apartment to ensure that no one is still trapped inside the building. The incident has raised concerns about the humanitarian toll of ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
