Russia Launches Largest Drone and Missile Attack on Ukraine since Months, Kills Eight

A devastating Russian attack on a nine-story building in Sumy, a city located 40 kilometers from the Russia-Ukraine border, resulted in the loss of eight lives and injured dozens more, according to official reports. The attack, characterized by Ukrainian officials as the largest in recent months, was carried out by drones and missiles.

In the Sumy building, home to over 800 residents, at least forty people were killed, including two children, according to Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko. In a remarkable display of resilience, over 400 civilians managed to evacuate the premises, although some remain trapped under the debris.

As rescue efforts escalated, teams of medical responders scoured every apartment in the building in search of any survivors or those still trapped beneath the rubble. The incident has dealt a significant blow to the residents of Sumy and has raised concerns about the escalating tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
