'Running Away Forward': Israeli Affairs Reach Paradoxical Point

In recent years, Israel's actions have become increasingly desperate attempts to avoid the grim realities facing its people and the Palestinian cause. Despite its military supremacy, Israel has failed to win wars or decide political outcomes, forcing it to re-evaluate its strategies.
The ongoing genocide in Gaza and the rapid theft of Palestinian land in the West Bank have unveiled the ugly face of Zionist settler-colonialism, leaving few defenders of Israeli ideals unscathed. The suffering, resistance, and pride of the Palestinian people have transformed their cause into a global issue that cannot be ignored.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's efforts to marginalize the Palestinian cause have been met with failure, as international scrutiny persists and the world's attention remains steadfast in condemnation. Despite this, Israeli leaders continue to make unrealistic promises of "total victory" and military domination, mirroring the disconnection from reality.
In northern Gaza, 55,000 Israeli soldiers failed to subdue the region in several weeks, only for settler leaders to announce plans to build new settlements and resorts within the destroyed territory. The accelerated collapse of Israel has long been predicted, with recent reports suggesting that Israel wants to construct settlement blocks inside Gaza, despite its own security failures.
Netanyahu's right-wing government advocates for full annexation of the West Bank, referring to Judea and Samaria as a land where they will achieve "sovereignty in God's help." However, international law remains clear: the West Bank is illegitimately occupied Palestinian territory that cannot be annexed or accepted under any circumstances.
Many countries refuse to recognize Israel's sovereignty over Jerusalem or the West Bank, with the International Court of Justice ruling unanimously on July 19 that Israel must bring an end to its "unlawful presence" in occupied territories. Even major powers like Washington are hesitant to endorse Israel's schemes, making annexation increasingly isolated and unwinnable.
A recent article by Israeli historian Ilan Pappe exposed the concept of "Fantasy Israel," a decades-long illusion that has long been crumbling due to Israel's failures on multiple frontlines, including Gaza and South Lebanon. Today, Netanyahu's government leads an era marked by extremist ideologies and radical thinking, rendering any hope of success through military force increasingly elusive.
Even top Zionist voices admit that the war has lost its clear objective, with former Mossad Deputy Chief Ram Ben-Barak declaring that Israel is "unequivocally losing it." The collapse of this misguided narrative threatens to render anything Israel attempts in terms of future strategies as unrealistic.
