Rizwan Openly Welcomes Indian Cricketers to Pakistan Ahead of Champions Trophy 2025
Pakistan White Ball Captain Mohammad Rizwan has come out in support of players from Team India, who would be participating in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 scheduled for next year in Pakistan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had denied sending Team India to Pakistan due to player safety concerns, citing that all players will need to ensure their health and well-being first.
Rizwan, who is leading the Men in Green squad against Australia in a three-match ODI and T20I series starting from November 14, emphasized that any Indian cricketer who comes to Pakistan will be given the respect he deserves. "Suryakumar Yadav or KL Rahul, whoever comes to Pakistan will be welcomed with respect," Rizwan stated in a clip shared by Cricwick.
However, Rizwan acknowledged that the decision regarding Team India's participation in the Champions Trophy 2025 is not within their hands. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and BCCI are reportedly engaged in talks over potential scenarios for the tournament, with the International Cricket Council (ICC) suggesting a hybrid model to accommodate Indian matches played outside of Pakistan.
Sources close to the PCB have revealed that if an agreement cannot be reached on hosting Indian matches in the UAE, the entire tournament might be shifted to South Africa. However, Rizwan remained optimistic about finding a solution and maintaining the spirit of international cricket, regardless of any challenges ahead.
As Pakistan prepares to host this prestigious event, the nation eagerly awaits news on whether Team India will make their mark in Pakistani soil or not.
