Reliance Industries Enters Sports Hydration Drink Market with Affordable and Effective Solution called Spinner

Mumbai, India - Reliance Consumer Products, the FMGC arm of Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries, has launched its first sports hydration drink, Spinner, co-created with former Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan. The affordable and effective beverage is priced at just Rs10 ($0.12) per bottled drink.

Spinner's launch is supported by partnerships with top Indian Premier League teams, including Lucknow Super Giants, SunRisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Mumbai Indians. The product range includes three flavors - lemon, orange, and nitro blue - made with added electrolytes to ensure proper hydration.

According to Ketan Mody, COO of Reliance Consumer Products, Spinner is "uniquely positioned" in the market and aims to create a sports beverage category of up to $1 billion in the next three years. The company plans to make hydration accessible to all, whether it's for professional athletes or everyday individuals.

Muralitharan, who co-created the product with Reliance Consumer Products, emphasized the importance of hydration during intense physical activity, saying that Spinner is a "game-changer" that will empower every Indian to stay hydrated and active.

This latest move by Reliance Industries demonstrates its commitment to expanding into new markets and creating innovative products for its consumers. With the launch of Spinner, the company aims to capitalize on the growing demand for sports hydration drinks in India and globally.

In line with this announcement, Reliance Consumer Products also recently launched another rehydration category drink called RasKik Gluco Energy, which contains added electrolytes, glucose, and lemon juice. The group's popular Campa Cola brand was re-launched in 2023 after acquiring the brand in 2022.

With Spinner, Reliance Industries is setting its sights on becoming a major player in the sports hydration drink market, targeting consumers who are looking for affordable and effective solutions to stay hydrated and active, both on and off the field.
